Embrace the Value of Dissolution

When both spouses have complete agreement as to how the marriage should be terminated, they can jointly petition for the Court for a dissolution of the marriage. This has the same effect as a divorce, but can be far less costly to carry out. While our attorney’s at Abel & Zocolo are never afraid to take a case to trial or engage in extensive divorce negotiations depending on what is best suited to a particular case, they each agree that dissolution should always be considered where there is any agreement over terms in which a marriage should end. While Abel & Zocolo can only represent one spouse in a dissolution action, working with our experienced attorneys can also unlock new and creative solutions to find common ground between parties and ultimately uncover an agreed solution which is far preferable to a full-fledged divorce for both spouses as well as to protect the best interests of their children.

Enforce Your Decree and Ensure Continued Equity Within the Law

Unfortunately, whether you were able to entirely negotiate your divorce decree, or decided to go through a trial and leave the outcome up to a court, you might not always be entirely satisfied with how your decree is allowing you to live your life post-divorce. Perhaps you received standard shared parenting in your divorce, but there has been a change in circumstances which has left you believing you should have more time with your kids. Maybe your spouse was ordered to pay a particular amount of spousal support or to divide property but has failed to do so. Or, for example, your former spouse could simply be earning more money now than they were at the time of the divorce, leaving you with an inequitable support order. Whatever your situation may be, our seasoned attorneys at Abel & Zocolo are always happy to sit down and speak with you and explain how they can put the law to work for you and help you thrive post-divorce.
